All About Toner Colors – 8 Facts To Help You Understand These Products

Much have been said and heard about printer toners but little had been discussed about toner colors. As buyers, you may not be so interested in such a subject. But knowing about facts on these essential parts of toners will help you much later on especially when you want to replace your printer cartridges.

What’s so special about toner colors?

There are actually four common types of toner colors – the cyan toner, yellow toner, magenta toner and black toner. These colors were not simply created to give you four colors while you print. In fact, if you will try to look into your print outputs, a wide array of color can be produced from these hues. In view of these, here are some facts you should know about these printer toners

1. The cyan, magenta, yellow and key or black colors form the CMYK color model for your toner ink cartridges. When you will look into these color combinations through simulated glass presentations, you will be able to see how various color mixes are made. This is the reason behind why your printout will result to your desired color even if there are only four toner colors available inside your printers.

2. You may wonder why the black toner is also called the key color. It is because of the fact that when you use the four-Color Printing, the printing plates for the other three colors in the CMYK color model are keyed with that of the black toner’s key plate.

3. The black toner minimizes printer ink use. When you omit the black toner color from the printing process, the result is a lighter and unsatisfactory printout. While this is the case, you still consume much toner ink in the process. With the black color added to the job, you maximize the image while minimizing printer ink usage.

4. The black toner is typically used in printing texts. To make sure that you print your text documents properly, the black toner is added to the bundle of the cyan, magenta and yellow printer toners. This will also avoid blurring of your text printouts.

5. When you use only the three other colors aside from black, there’s a tendency that your printout will soak the paper with toner printer ink. This slows down the paper’s drying process.

6. Even if cyan, magenta and yellow toners are capable of producing different colors, it cannot produce the color black. A Dark Brown color will come out of the mixture instead.

7. While the CMYK is a popular model for printer toner colors, there are different mixes or recipes created to make it work for your printing task. Popular methods used by toner ink manufacturers include under color addition and removal as well as the gray component replacement.

8. The color produced by the toner color in your printouts can be your deciding factors when changing your Toner Cartridges. For instance, you noticed that the cyan color is already quite blurred in the background then it is time to change it. The same is true if the magenta, yellow and black toner colors produce less vivid results in a colored printout.
